found: German Wikipedia, viewed January 24th, 2024(Hermolaus Barbarus the Younger, Italian: Ermolao Barbaro (il giovane), born May 21st, 1453 or 1454 in Venice, died June 14th, 1493 in Rome) was a Venetian patrician and Italian humanist and author of translations of ancient authors such as Plinius and Aristoteles. He was offered the office of Patriarch of Aquileia by Pope Innocent VIII in 1491. The Venetian Senate refused to allow him to take up this position, as Barbarus had already accepted, contrary to the law, without waiting for official approval. He was therefore banished and forced to give up the office of patriarch.
