- found: Kentucky encyclopedia, ©1992:page 99 ("Squire Boone", frontiersman. Born October 5, 1744 in Berks County, Pennsylvania; brother of Daniel Boone (1734-1820). Moved to the Yadkin Valley of North Carolina, later apprenticed to his cousin, gunsmith Samuel Boone where he became an expert gunsmith. With his brother Daniel, explored Florida in 1765 then Kentucky where he helped cut the Wilderness Road and built Fort Boonesborough in 1775. Was a Baptist minister, performed the first marriage in Kentucky and served as a legislator in Virginia. Moved to Vicksburg, Mississippi, then to New Orleans. Also lived in Florida and Missouri. Moved to Boone Township, Indiana in 1806. Died there August 1815.)
