After the death of King John in 1540 and the fall of Buda (1541) she moved to Transylvania and tried to secure her rule with Ottoman help. In 1551 she was forced by György Fráter to resign in favour of Ferdinand I and to leave Transylvania. In 1556 she was called back from Poland and ruled the principality until her death in 1559)
