Schønberg, Birger von Cotta-, 1889-1958


  • [Began his acting career at Nordisk in 1908. Appeared in about 70 silent films, usually only in minor roles, though in 1915 he did star in the film, Evangeliemandens. For a time he was married to the actress, Clara Nebelong, with whom he co-starred in the film, Pierrot og Pierette. He also directed for the German film company, UFA. In 1938, he directed and wrote the screenplay for I Folkets Navn, a Nazi propaganda film. In 1947, he was sentenced to three years in prison for promoting German interests during World War II. In his later years he settled in Frederiksberg, and went into alternative healing.]
