(René Nelli; René Nelli (born 20 February 1906 in Carcassonne and died on 11 March 1982 in Carcassonne) was a French poet, novelist , occidentist, historian and ethnologist; he was a high-school teacher in Maubeuge, Castelnaudary and Carcassonne, and from 1946 to 1963 he was a museum director in Carcassonne, and at the same time an assistant professor for French ethnology at the University of Toulouse; he was co-founder of the Institut d'Estudis Occitans in 1945)
