Sept. 4, 1915; it purchased all the assets of the E.I. du Pont de Nemours Powder Company in 1915 and became and remains the parent company of a multinational chemical firm; logos and service marks "Du Pont", "DuPont" and "Du Pont Company" are used by the parent company and its numerous subsidiaries)
