- [The Commonwealth Parliamentary Library of Australia was created in 1902. The name was changed in 1923 to Commonwealth National Library. In 1960 the library became the National Library of Australia. It was decided, also in 1960, to make the parliamentary library a separate organization under the name Commonwealth Parliamentary Library.]
