found: Hendersonia, c1973: p. 2 (Fletcher Hamilton Henderson, Jr.; b. Dec. 18, 1897; "Feather's Encyclopedia of jazz (1955 ed.) gives ... the date of his birth as Dec. 18, 1898. Floyd Snelson (Pittsburgh courier, June 13, 1931), the Chicago defender (June 2, 1934), Fletcher himself (in a 1936 interview), and his sister Irma (in a letter to [the author]) all concur with the date as given by Feather. But the following sources list it as Dec. 18, 1897: an article by Deacon Johnson (N.Y. age, April 4, 1925), his official entry in ASCAP biographical dictionary (1952 and 1966 editions), his sister Irma (interview with Jeff Tarrer), and his headstone. Obituaries gave his age at death (Dec. 29, 1952) as 55.")
