found: Adenet, le Roi, active 13th century. Bertha of the big foot (Berte as grans piés), 2013: CIP galley introd. (his exact birth and death dates are unknown; he was taught to be a minstrel by Duke Henri III of Brabant, at whose court he apparently grew up; after Henri died, Adenet remained with his sons, but by 1270 was a minstrel at the Flanders court of Gui de Dampierre; Adenet served Gui for thirty years; Adenet's title le roi indicates that he was master of diversions, head of the other minstrels; Gui died in 1304 and the last reference to Adenet in household records is in 1297)
