After attending the cantonal school in Aarau, he began studying music in Basel . He also studied in London , Paris , Berlin , Baltimore and New York , among others with well-known pianists such as Leon Fleisher , Peter Feuchtwanger , Charles Rosen , Maurizio Pollini and Claude Helffer .
