Winstedt; born 1880 in Oxford; died January 29, 1955; British Latinist and scholar of Gypsies; he translated Marcus Tullius Cicero's Letters to Atticus into English; in the 1920's, he compiled a "register of Gypsy names"; early in his career he published several articles on Coptic texts as well as some editions of Coptic texts; he was the brother of Sir Richard Olaf Winstedt)
