[Once the initial stage of the restoration of the buildings of the island of San Servolo had been completed, the Province of Venice, owners of the island, made the decision to create a single limited society to manage all the services of the island of San Servolo. Approval for the project was gained both from the Regional government (30 September 2003) and local government (5th April 2004). Specifically this project allowed the efficient management, by a single body, of the conference centre, catering to the needs of the various institutions operating there. This is how San Servolo Servizi srl, one man society, which operates on the island to achieve the following aims: the maximisation of the potential of the island and its works and services; the conservation and restoration of its works of cultural value; the increase in the number of users of the island; the progressive reaching of a situation of economic independence; the improvement of the standard of services offered and of the services themselves; the opening up of the island to the city.
