[A group of trustees was established under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) when the Exxon Valdez oil spill occured in 1989. Most of the work of the Trustees is done through the body know as the Trustee Council, which is further comprised of a management team of persons from the representative agencies who do the actual gathering and publishing of information for the Trustees. Those reports had been funded and written by the individual participating agencies under the Program, but were not completed until the new Trustee Council was functioning, which then reviewed the reports and published them under both the NRDA name and new Trustee Council name.)
