found: MWA/NAIP files (hdg.: Deseret News Office; note: the Deseret news was involved in job printing, including government printing, almost from its beginning on June 15, 1850. Over the years the establishment, entirely owned and financed by the LDS Church, expanded to include a bookstore, bindery, type foundery, and paper mill. The use of the names Deseret News Printing Establishment, Deseret News Book and Job Establishment, Deseret News Steam Printing Establishment, and Deseret News Steam Printing and Publishing Office, all during the 1870s, may reflect one or more formal name changes but this has not been verified. In 1880 the Deseret news and its related departments were incorporated under private stockholders as the Deseret News Co. [no publs. in LC data base]. In 1892, because of severe financial problems, the entire operations were leased to the Deseret News Publishing Company [no publs. in LC data base])
