The prime movers included the church's Pastor Girardet, Hermann Lang, a singing-master at the teacher's training-college in Lausanne, and André Charlet, who trained and led the new choir. Soon they were performing in the parishes of the district and in time also appeared in concert-halls in Geneva, Lausanne and Montreux.
