TitlePolybiou tou Lykorta historiōn ta sōzomena Polybii Lycortae f. historiarum quae supersuntNoteGreek title romanized.Vol. 1 has imprint date of 1764; v. 2-3 have imprint date of 1763 and Vindobona (Vienna), Austria as place of publication.Includes indexes.LC copy bound in 8 physical volumes and interleaved with James Hampton's English translation of the Historiae. Jefferson's preference to have the Latin and Greek text interleaved with the English translation caused the preliminary matter and commentary that appear in each volume of Krause's edition to become split and separated from the text to which they correspond. Jefferson's copy of volume 1 (labeled I on spine) has the dedication by Casaubon to King Henri IV of France, preface by Causaubon, Fulvio Orsini's dedication to Antonio Perenotto, and preface by Valesius (p. [603]-704), all of which were in the original volume 3. The commentary that appears at the end of each volume in Krause's edition was rebound by Jefferson in his volumes 6-8. For example, volume 6 (labeled VI on spine) includes commentary from the original volume 1 (p. [718]-935) and volume 2 (p. 949-[1012]). Jefferson's volumes 7 and 8 (labeled VII and VIII on spine) are not interleaved and includes contents of the original volumes 2 and 3.Dimensions21 cm.
