Summary
Blue Cloud, the Indian Runner, comes upon an old prospector, dying alone in the Black Hills and tries to help him. The prospector, grateful for Blue Cloud's kindness, tells him the location of his hidden gold mine, and then dies. Three unscrupulous cowboys try to force Blue Cloud to reveal the location of the mine, but he refuses. He returns to his village to be married. The next day, when he is out hunting, his wife is kidnapped by the three cowboys, who get drunk, and then gamble to decide which of them gets to keep her. Blue Cloud does not have a horse, so he races after the abductors on foot. He comes upon them just as the winner is riding off with his prize. Leaping astride the running horse, Blue Cloud struggles with the kidnapper, killing him and rescuing his wife
