Bull is outraged since he has transformed the field from a rocky lot to a lush swath and believes the field is his in accordance with tribal codes that predate modern law. Feared and respected throughout the countryside, Bull announces his intention to claim the field in a public auction, but the widow declares never to sell to him. An Irish-American from Boston returns to his ancestral village with a plan to pave Bull's field for a road to lucrative limestone deposits. Bull rails against him and when the American refuses to give way, Bull enlists his son, Tadgh, in a plan to drive him off. This has fatal consequences and destroys everything Bull holds dearDurationPT110MAuthorized Access PointThe field
