Summary
A lieutenant in the World War II Seventh Army meets and falls in love with a beautiful American girl living with her widowed mother in Nice. She refuses to marry him because she knows that her father had been a Negro. While he is away on a dangerous mission, the mother dies, and the girl turns the villa into a home for war orphans. When he returns he realizes more strongly than before how much she means to him.
