Summary
A description of the evolution of the forensic science of odorology: the biological analysis of human scent, the use of trained dogs in detecting scent evidence, the theoretical and legal bases for forensic odorology. The work examines the formation of scent signatures, their physical and forensic properties, and their classification. It also examines the procedure for preparing materials and assigning odorological specialists, the capabilities of laboratory analysis, and the use of scent analysis in combination with other forensic evidence. The bibliography includes Ukrainian publications and dissertations about forensic odorology.
