Performers include Leadbelly recorded in New York City [1935]; Aunt Molly Jackson recorded in 1939; Jack Johnson recorded in Wear Valley, Tennessee in 1948; Carl and Hazel Johnson recorded in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1947; Jean Ritchie and her sisters Edna, Pauline, and Kitty recorded in Viper, Kentucky in 1946; Ben Harrison Kelly recorded in Byington, Tennessee in 1948; and Jerry Effler recorded in Townsend, Tennessee in 1948. The recordings include blues, folk songs, ballads, Christmas carols, and fiddle tunes and were loaned by Gene Moore of the Highlander Center, New Market, Tennessee.
