The collection includes 3 boxes of articles, contact sheets, correspondence, descriptions, interviews, lists, photographs, reports, song texts, and manuscript music transcriptions for most of the songs recorded on this expedition. Included is the bound copy of the "Tentative record check list, Southern Recording Expedition sponsored by Joint Committee on Folk Arts WPA and the Library of Congress" by Herbert Halpert (Oct. 1939) 131 p.
