A joint project of the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the U.S. Census Bureau to create the Coastal Assessment and Data Synthesis (CA & DS) System. Data reflects "time series geo-referenced socioeconomic data from the U.S. Census Bureau and the Bureau of Economic Analysis, for the last three decadal census' (1970, 1980 and 1990), aggregated by two useful watershed units - NOAA's Coastal Assessment Framework (CAF) and USGS Hydrologic Cataloging Units (HUCs)." Also incorporates basic population count for Census 2000.
