Summary
Collection of cylinder recordings of Pawnee songs recorded by Alice Fletcher in collaboration with James Murie. The recordings were made in Washington D.C. in November 1898 and December 1900. The principal singer was Tahirŭssawichi. Documentation for this collection is taken from notes enclosed in the cylinder boxes and from Fletcher's monograph, The Hako, published in 1904 as part 2 of the 22nd Annual Report of the Bureau of American Ethnology. The cylinders were transferred to the Library of Congress from the National Archives in 1948
