Summary
Collection primarily consists of oral history interviews relating to the United States Capitol Historical Society and the Heritage Series' oral history project featuring Asian Pacific Americans in Congress. From 2006-2008, oral history interviews were conducted by Ronald A. Sarasin, President of the United States Capitol Historical Society, with members of Congress Daniel Akaka, Mike Honda, Daniel Inouye, Doris Matsui, Norman Mineta, and David Wu. The oral histories were designed to capture and preserve the diverse history of Asian Pacific American Congressional leaders. Topics include congressional careers and legislation, impact of World War II, internment, and legacy
Also includes Quick Time video files, digital photographs, and other material relating to the 2007 and 2008 Youth Forum on Asian Pacific Americans in Public Service on 3 CD-R discs and videotaped portions of the forum on 4 Mini-DV and 4 DVCPro cassettes; and 2 CD-R discs consisting of the oral history project office files from the United States Capital Historical Society
