Summary
Oscar is looking forward to the beginning of fishing season, when he can set out after catfish, pikes, and other kinds of aquatic quarry. However, when the awaited day arrives, he comes down with tonsilitis. Despondent, he returns home from the doctor. Then a miracle occurs: the carpet in his house becomes a river. A spiral decoration is transformed into a whirlpool; brown spots become stones jutting out from the water. Oscar takes his fishing pole and catches a carpet pike. With this begins a bizarre fishing episode, where he fishes in the pockets of his coat, in the washer, in his alarm clock and on the keyboard of his computer. Then, however, Oscar becomes acquainted with a girl named Ruth and discovers, that fish aren't everything.
