Summary
The Five recollections were composed in 1915 for piano. Each piece is based on a Greek mode. Foulds composed Corybantes in 1932, added it to the Recollections as a sixth movement, and rescored the whole for double string orchestra, harp and percussion, renaming the set "Hellas : a suite of ancient Greece." Here, Corybantes is arranged for piano solo by Lucian Beschiu and added as a final movement for the "Recollections of ancient Greek music."
