Summary
The book content is deriving from several regional Marine Science for Management (MASMA) courses on scientific methodologies in marine ecology undertaken by WIOMSA (The Western Indian Ocean Marine Science Association) undertaken at Inhaca Marine Biological Station and Pemba Bay. This manual is a comprehensive and integrated training resource to address the reference sources gaps for training in Marine Biodiversity and Ecology. The book has three parts, 12 chapters and is composed by 14 exercises covering both simple to advanced practical exercises that can be performed in intertidal areas. The exercises which are provided throughout this book include population descriptive statistics, correlation and regression of population traits; group comparisons (several ANOVAs), Biological diversity and advanced field measures (such as factorial manipulative experiment).
