Summary
The night before D-Day a staff member discovered that a message prerecorded by General Eisenhower for delivery at dawn on June 6, 1944, included a dreadful gaffe. He had said something like: "Don't needlessly endanger your lives until I give the signal." At the last moment it was rerecorded: "Do not needlessly endanger your lives. Wait, until I give you the signal to rise and ..." This recording contains both versions. The first version was never broadcast.
