Correspondence, clippings, printed matter, maps, photographs, and manuscripts of speeches and articles relating to General G. K. Warren and the Battle of Five Forks. Most of the material was assembled by Perham between 1900 and 1910 through correspondence with Union and Confederate veterans and veterans' organizations, and with government agencies, in an effort to vindicate the military record of General Warren who was relieved of command of the V Corps by General Philip H. Sheridan at Five Forks, Va., Apr. 1, 1865. Includes correspondence with members of the Warren family and a manuscript of a paper by Perham entitled Martyrdom of General Warren. A small part of the collection relates to other battles and campaigns.
