Summary
Correspondence, writings, scrapbooks, and other papers of or relating to the actor Richard Mansfield who was noted for introducing the works of Henrik Ibsen and Bernard Shaw to American audiences. The collection was compiled by his friend and secretary, author Paul Wilstach, and includes source material for and manuscript of Wilstach's biography, Richard Mansfield, The Actor and the Man (1908). Also includes correspondence between Wilstach and Mansfield's widow, Beatrice Cameron Mansfield; a scrapbook pertaining to theater and to the Wilstach family; and a scrapbook relating to Mansfield's career compiled by Mrs. J.P. Pollard.
