Walker of this town has been declared 1937 women's skeet shooting champion of the country by the National Skeet Shooting Association. The Association has released the averages on which the ratings were based, but one day last year at the Kenwood, MD, skeet club, Mrs. Walker set the woman's record fall with 99x100 (skeet for 99 birds out of a possible 100). Four adults and 10 children of following ages: 1 boy of 3 years, 2 boys and 1 girl of 5 years, 1 boy and 1 girl of 7 years, 1 boy of 8, 1 boy of 9 years, 1 girl of 11 years and 1 boy of 15 years. Everyone had a sack and was picking industriously. The parents said that Fred, 3 years old, sometimes picks 20 pounds a day and Vera, 5 years old, picks 25 pounds a day. See photos of Fred and Vera

19. Hine, Lewis Wickes, 1874-1940 View of the Gorenflo Canning Co., Biloxi, Miss., taken at 7 A.M. Many tiny workers here, some of whom began to arrive at the factory as early as 5 o'clock, an hour before they were allowed to begin work, and long before daylight on a damp-foggy day. The whistle had blown and they came and stood around merely to hold their places. When the "catch" has been good, they begin work early, but today it was not good so they were waiting for daylight. In this group I ascertained the ages of a few, as follows, 1 child of 6 years, 1 of 7, 2 of 8, 1 of 10 and there were many more. See report also 1911 March

Hine, Lewis Wickes, 1874-1940 This photo shows what was formerly a chicken coop, in which during the berry season the Arnao family live on Hitchen's farm, Seaford, Del. 17 children and 5 elders live in this made over chicken coop. The age of 10 of the children is given below: 1 Child is 3 years old; 1 Child is 4 years old; 1 Child is 5 years old; 1 Child is 6 years old; 2 Children are 7 years old; 1 Child is 9 years old; 1 Child is 10 years old; 1 Child is 11 years old; 1 Child is 13 years old. Another photo in this collection shows the Arnao family on Truitt's Farm. On the day of the investigation no berries being picked on Hitchen's Farm. The family went over to the Truitt's farm to pick.
