1. Hine, Lewis Wickes, 1874-1940 Comparison of Baptisimal Record and Age Certificate of Stanley Letuvinak (American name, Thomas Long). Born according to baptismal record May 10, 1897; date of birth given in age certificate was June 10, 1893, in order to make him 14 years of age. He was killed by falling from a breaker at Wanamie, Pa., when only 10 years of age. The Coroner's Jury, said in its report, "We find said company not responsible for the accident as they held affidavit from his father that he was 14 and the boy was away from his work when the accident occurred." Highsmith, Carol M., 1946- Birth home, in Jamestown, New York, of Lucille Ball, a pioneer female television comedian whose landmark television show, "I Love Lucy," captivated U.S. audiences in the early 1950s. Baby Lucy lived in this modest home only two years after her birth in 1911 before her family moved to a similar house in the the next town, Celeron, where Lucy lived until dropping out of high school to take acting classes in New York City. Ms. Ball, who died in 1989 at age 77, is buried in Jamestown's Lake View Cemetery 2018-08-07

Johnson, Lynn, 1953- In the Dong culture, parents traditionally, at the time of birth of a child, plant a grove of pines, known as "18 year" trees, which will provide wood for the home of the child and his marriage partner. Death, too, is anticipated. A young girl here shares a laugh with her mother beside her coffin tree, chosen for her at birth. If she follows tradition, she will have the tree cut down and carved to order when she reaches old age. In a sign of the times, one carpentry shop now sells ready-made coffins [ca. 2008]
