She is the color analyst of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and measures color as a means of grading and standardizing many agricultural products such as cotton, hay, fruits, vegetables, rice, honey, meat, grains, breads and many others. Miss Nickerson is using the special instrument designed by the Department of Agriculture for the measurement of color, in respect to hue, brilliance and chroma, the three elements distinguishing color. 20. Thunderbolt! Here is the "Lockheed Lightning," also known as the P-38 Interceptor-Pursuit, said by experts to be world's fastest airplane. The plane is in production at the Burbank, California, plant of the Lockheed Aircraft Corporation for the U.S. Army Air Corps and England's RAF (Royal Air Force). The unconventional design of this plane represents a revolutionary step in aircraft manufacture. The "Lightning" embodies every known modern principle of aerodynamics, that is, it is the latest word in streamlining.
