15. The town of Corfu on the Island of Corfu, off the Albanian coast on the Adriatic. This was the end of Serbia's "Road of Sorrow". To this port the remnants of the Serbian army retreated for reorganization in 1915-16, followed by 30,000 young boys. Most of them died along the way and 2,000 perished in this town. A small steamer put out of this port each night with an average of 100 bodies abaord. They were dumped into the sea as graves could not be dug fast enough
