found: Grove music online, viewed Sept. 23, 2011(His best-known song collections are Fredmans epistlar and Fredmans sånger. Much of the music for both collections has been traced to France. Bellman used ariettes from the opéra comique, instrumental dances and airs that have been found in old songbooks and in Swedish 'dance books' containing melodies transcribed for one or two violins. Less frequently, he took simple melodies by such well-known composers as Haydn and Handel.)
