UMass Memorial Health Care (Organization)

found: Email from University of Massachusetts Medical School, Nov. 6, 2003(on April 5, 1999, the school and hospital separated, and the administration and fiscal systems of the two organizations became separate. The University of Massachusetts Medical School is now a separate entity from the hospital but remains one of the five campuses of the University of Massachusetts system; at the time of the separation of the school and the hospital, the administration of the hospital merged with the administration of Memorial Health Care to form UMass Memorial Health Care, which is the "clinical partner" of the medical school (and retains the UMass name, although it is no longer affiliated with the university); UMass Memorial Health Care is a multi-site health care system in Central and Western Massachusetts. The hospital itself is named UMass Memorial Medical Center, and has three campuses: University, Memorial, and Hahnemann)
