found: NUCMC data from Jewish Museum Milwaukee for Photograph of the silver anniversary dinner for the Milwaukee Jewish Children's Home, 1943(the Milwaukee Jewish Children's Home was fd. in 1919 as the Society for the Care of Dependent Jewish Children [no publs. in LC database]; a charter was obtained in 1919 for organizing a home for the care of Jewish orphans and dependents; funds obtained by donations and membership, also Ladies Auxiliary; acc. to the 1923 Jewish Community Blue Book, it was founded for the purpose of caring for the local Jewish orphans as well as providing them with a Jewish education; in 1922 they purchased a large duplex house on 21st and McKinley; in 1928, it was also known as the Home for Dependent Jewish Children; by 1940 the name changed from Jewish Orphan's Home to Milwaukee Jewish Children's Home; in 1948 Jewish Children's Home merged with Jewish Social Service Assoc., which became Jewish Family and Children's Service[s], now known as JFS [Jewish Family Services]; in 1976 Jewish Children's was closed)
