found: Friends of Evergreen WWW, Apr. 23, 2010(The Friends of Evergreen was founded in 1991 with a mission to preserve, protect, and restore Evergreen Cemetery for past, present, and future generations. The Friends was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in Feb. 1992, and received 501.3 status in 1993. Through the efforts of the Friends, Evergreen Cemetery has been admitted to the National Register of Historic Places, and has received protection under the City's Historic Preservation Ordinance. Grants have enabled the Friends to create a master plan for the Cemetery, and a restoration plan for the Wilde Memorial Chapel, now fully restored; full name: The Friends of Evergreen Cemetery, Portland, Maine)
