found: Washington place names, via WWW, July 3, 2019Knappton was once a community on the north bank of the Columbia River, northeast of Megler in southwest Pacific County. It was originally named Cementville, but was renamed in 1871 to honor J.B. Knapp. Other names were Todd Bay and Centerville; Centralia is a city at the confluence of Chehalis and Skookumchuck rivers south of the Thurston County boundary in northwest Lewis County. When the town was platted it was named Centerville. Because a town in Klickitat County had the same name, it was changed in 1884 to its present name; Stanwood is near the mouth of Stillaguamish River in northwest Snohomish County. When a post office was established in 1877 the name was Centerville. In the early 1900s, the post office name was changed because the first name was so common that postal deliveries were confused)
