found: NUCMC data from Litchfield Hist. Soc. for Esther H. Thompson notebook, ca. 1875-1895(Esther H. Thompson, born Mar. 3, 1853, daughter of George and Harriett Thompson of Litchfield, Conn. Esther attended Wesleyan Academy in Wilbraham, Mass., and completed the regular course of study in 1876. Esther then returned to her family home in Litchfield and began teaching. Principal of the Connecticut Industrial School for Girls in Middletown, Conn. (a private institution established in 1869 for delinquent girls). Also a member of The Bryologist and The Sullivant Moss Society. Died in Litchfield on June 2, 1929)
