found: Colonel Washington and me, 2012:t.p. (William Lee) p. 2 (born into slavery around 1752) p. 24 (There are differing references to the year of Will's passing. The first is a ledger entry of Lawrence Lewis, George Washington's nephew, that places his death around the end of 1810 or early 1811. The later reference by historian Benson J. Lossing has Will passing about 1828, "at a very advanced age." Lewis, as one of the general's executors, was the individual that ensured that William was cared for per the general's instructions. It is likely that his dates on William's passing are accurate.)
