Born September 12, 1936 in Bay City, Tex., attended University of St. Thomas in Houston 1955-1959, then entered St. Basil's Seminary in Toronto, Canada in 1963 and two years later studied at the Seminario Conciliar in Mexico City. Ordained December 1966 and began an MA program at University of Detroit, graduating with his MA in 1968. Worked in Mexico for the next 5 years, then was sent to San Antonio in 1976 where he taught cultural anthropology at the Mexican American Cultural Center and at Our Lady of the Lake University.
