Manilius is the most probable. His creative period falls at the end of Augustus's reign and at the beginning of Tiberius's. The terminus post quem is the battle of the Teutoburg Forest in AD 9 (Manil. 1,899f.). Augustus is at first the living addressee (1,384f.; 2,507-509), but is then replaced by Tiberius (4,764-766).
