Based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, he is both a museum and decorative arts consultant and a broker of American antique furniture. Previously he was director of the museum collections division at Winterthur Museum, executive director of the Historical Society of York County, and curator of the Currier Gallery of Art. His publications include Cadwalader Study (co-author, 1995); Seeing Things Differently (1992), and numerous articles and reviews in periodicals such as The Magazine Antiques, American Furniture, and Winterthur Portfolio)
