He moved to London in 1803, eventually co-founding the firm of Taylor and Hessey, publishers and booksellers. Taylor and Hessey dissolved in 1825. Taylor became publisher and bookseller to the new University of London in 1827, and partnered with a Mr. Walton in 1836.
