Attended State College in Lexington and graduated from Princeton University in 1889. Studied law at Columbia University and the University of Virginia. Joined his father's Lexington law practice. In 1897 he and his father bought the Lexington newspaper, the Lexington Herald where he served as managing editor and editor. Was ranked as one of the top twenty horsemen in the country in 1922. Died on February 18, 1935 in Lexington, Ky.)
