A collection of his short stories "Was ich davon halte" was published in 2000, followed by the literary travel companion "Gebrauchsanweisung für Portugal" (2001). He now lives and works as a writer and journalist (Süddeutsche Zeitung, FAZ) in Munich (Germany) and Kathmandu, there also as editor-in-chief of "Der Freund"
