Andrew; died at 86 on Apr. 5, 2007; mathematician; worked for the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, retired in 1980; during World War II, he was at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Radiation Laboratory, working on the development of radar; received a doctorate in mathematics at MIT in 1948, then worked at the old Bureau of Standards in Washington on the SEAC, one of the precursors of the modern computer. Dr. Andrew moved to the Air Force in 1951.
