Janka Král̕a) page 2 of cover (born 22 April 1822 in Liptovský Mikuláš; learned several languages and travelled through Hungary, Serbia, Turkey, and Bessarabia, recording folklore of those regions; worked in a law firm in Pešt at the beginning of 1848; encouraged the [Slovak] people to press for their rights during the 1848 revolution and imprisoned by the authorities at Šahy and Pešt) page 4 (after release from jail, served as a capitain of Slovak volunteers in in the Austrian army; became a civil servant in Slovakia after the Revolution; later worked as an attorney in Zlaté Moravce, where he died on 23 May 1876)
